Hey all...
Thanks for stopping By !! you should eat breakfast like a king ,its true if you have a proper breakfast the whole day will be active and fresh,so never skip your breakfast.Idli is one of the most favorite breakfast at my home back in India it is yummy with sambar or any chutney.but i am a lazy bum ,most of the days our breakfast includes toast, egg ,omelette, smoothie etc., .now a days its going viral on net the "no Rice Idli ".when i saw the post while browsing net even i wanted to give it a try and i tried ..lets see how to make,is it tastes good? lets see...
Ingredients :
1 cup uraddal
1 cup yellow moong dal
few fenu greek seeds
Method :
soak both the dals separately overnight ,add fenugreek seeds in any of the dal.Remember to add very few of them.and do grind separately both of the dals now mix them .let the batter ferment for at least 8 hours or overnight.your batter should be fluffy and frothy.
Grease the idli pan with oil (optional ),i dont do this.and steam your idlis.serve with sambar or with your favourite chutney.
My thoughts :
Yes its really healthy compared to normal idli, both the dals contains good amount carbohydrates ,proteins.the idlis came out perfectly like normal idlis even by lookwise.but they are not approved by my family.the taste is different,i served this idli with spicy and tangy peanut chutney.but we both me and my husband ended up having 2 idlis that too with difficulty.i see so many people could not differentiate the taste, its really strange for me, again its my opinion.but next time i will definitely try with sambar and wanted to include in our diet because its healthy !!
Do try and share your thoughts .
Till then take care !!
